Oklahoma is a growing power house in wind energy surpassing it’s goal for 15 percent of its electricity being produced by wind power two years before it’s due date. Legislators are exploring expanding this goal to make 20 percent if the state’s energy come form wind power by 2020. As the industry grows, so does its impact on our economy. According to the reports by The Daily Oklahoma, the Secretary of Energy believe federal tax credits are one reason the wind energy industry has grown so quickly in Oklahoma. These tax credits are set to expire in 2013. Can this forward momentum stay strong in the wind energy industry?
